Players with superior skills in ball handling normally have the highest scores per game. And since basketball is a game of who scores the most, it is important that players are trained properly with ball handling skills. In this article, we will provide you with information on passing and catching the basketball.
If you are strongly guarded by the opponent and you can’t make a shot, one of the impulses that might come to you is to pass the ball. While passing could be done even by little children, good passing in basketball is a different story.
There are just five passing lanes on the court namely: over the top of the opponent’s head, the left and right side of the opponent’s head, and near the right and left side of his leg.
Good guards won’t let the opponent make points. In this case, you can divert to faking with a shot, with a body or with a jump. After which is the time to pass the ball towards the five passing lines, depending on the need of the situation.
The chest pass is the most typical that you can observe and do in the absence of a defensive player to block the pass. The key thing here is to keep your arms high so you wouldn’t have to make that extra effort of moving them upwards to make the pass.
On the other hand, the two-handed overhead pass is used to maneuver the ball within the perimeter. It could be aimed as a post pass, a skip pass or an outlet pass. In doing this, just remember to keep it a little over the head of the receiver.
The push pass is the type that you use when you want to pass with one hand. This must start from your ear and should make use of the elbow strength. It can’t be used at all times since this could offer the possibility of interception, thus, you must be keen of the defensive play from the other team.
If, however, you need a pass that won’t cover a great distance, you will need a baseball pass. This can be typically seen once the offensive team runs out of time and are still lacking points.
Great players appreciate the value of good passing because it makes the opponents scramble in the ring while giving you opportunities to send the ball to the right hand that would make the right moves and eventually give you scores on the board.

I’m 30 years old, and well, I never developed a jump shot until after High School. Later, I became really good. I joined the Army for 8 years, and then got out I’m now 30 years old. I can still play basketball exceptionally well. Sad truth is, no one is going to take a 30 year old college basketball player, or NBA rookie for that matter. I play for sport and fun now. However, anyone like me, and wish they had really went out for the NBA in hard work and pursuit?

The crooked ref Tim Donghy confessed of more wrongdoing in addition to what has come out. He said that the refs blew whistles to help the Lakers win the Championship and steered the series into more profitability and favoritism. Can we still trust the NBA now? L.A. has always been their little favorite baby…evidently the complaints all these years were true…when can we trust the evident return to respectability or can we ever ?

My friend gave me a basketball of his that was autographed by his old team. It is a nice official NBA game ball so it’s made of leather. Is there any way to get that permanent maker off of that ball?
My friend gave it to me to play with because it is a nice ball. The team that autographed it was some old team he played with a long time ago and aren’t famous or anything. They didn’t really mean anything to him, they just had a rich and generous coach. So now that I have the ball, if I can clean it up, it’d be nice.

Basketball is a sport in which two teams of five players each try to score points on one another by tossing a ball through a their opponents basket (or hoop) under organized rulings.
Over time, basketball has developed to involve common techniques of shooting, passing and dribbling, as well as players positions, and offensive and defensive strategies. Basketball is also a very popular spectator sport.
The more common fans now a days support their favorite team by frequently coming out to watch live games, buy player and team merchandise; moreso wear their favorite player and team jersey.
What do you do for your favorite basketball team? How can you express your loyalty and support for the team that has made so much for you? It does not matter if it wins or not, you just have to be there for them every time. Wearing a basketball jersey can express those feelings. Sometimes, people wear them for years, no matter what if their team won this year or not. It gives them a sense of camaraderie when they meet people who also wear a basketball jersey.
Lets take as example The Pistons from Detroit. If you were not had one, you were considered un-cool. The basketball jersey has become in Detroit not only the sign of all Pistons fans, but symbol of Detroit. Even if the media sometimes trashes this town, it is a city that has been through many hard times, but it always managed to get over. We show that way a sense of civic pride, we cannot abandon it, as we cannot abandon our team.
A basketball jersey may also signify the beginning of your high school adventures. We all know how hard people try to make it into the basketball team or the football team. They value so much their first jersey because it is kind of the beginning of their manhood. It showed how good you were, how skilled, disciplined and dedicated to the sport you were and all the other people admired you.
We all keep those basketball jerseys even if we are now grown up men; it has a sentimental value and it can bring back wonderful memories since you were young.
Much like card collectors, some people even collect team jerseys with hopes of long term value rewards. The older, more popular and more “mint” your jersey is, the better odds of it being worth more in the long run.
