Is it possible to compare Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant?

Sunday 27 September 2009 @ 9:47 pm
kobe bryant

Both played in different time periods during Jordan’s era. Teams were way better defensively and they played a lot rougher it is proven fact. However, during Kobe’s era (now) it is mostly about offense (some teams like the Pistons still follow the defense wins game tradition). So what do you think?
Not really, MC (Lakers 31-8) I am pointing out that you cannot because of the time periods they played in I don’t think you understand the point I am trying to make.

Will the Lakers have bragging rights against the Celtics should LA win the trophy this year?

Sunday 27 September 2009 @ 7:05 pm
la lakers

Now that the Celtics are out of the playoffs, there is no way for the Lakers to avenge their humiliating defeat against the Celtics last year. Sure they can defeat the Magic or be lucky against the Cavs, but in terms of bragging rights against the Celtics, Boston still has it. Right? What do you think Celtics and Lakers fans?

Toronto Raptors Progress Report

Sunday 27 September 2009 @ 1:07 pm
by Travis Black

Each week, when the basketball year starts, I will be doing something that I refer to as a Toronto Raptors dish writing about how they have thus far performed and what is going on with the franchise. Presently, I’m going to share a summer report.

The Raptors have wholly rebuilt their lineup only keeping the core of the team in Jose Calderon, Andrea Bargnani, and obviously, Chris Bosh. With key acquisitions like Hedo Turkoglu and Jarrett Jack, the Raptors |have currently shaped a lineup for brilliance, although critics seem to think differently.

The main dilemma with the Raptors in previous seasons has been their rebounding and durability. Chris Bosh has built some muscle in the offseason, Bargnani is only becoming better, and new enhancements Antoine Wright, Jarrett Jack, and Reggie Evans ought to help the team some more.

Offense should not be any kind of a dilemma this year with Chris Bosh and Hedo Turkoglu leading the way. These dynamic scorers must help keep the Raptors in games. Look for the team to be a high powered offensive franchise.

The x-factor this year is essentially Jose Calderon, since when Jose is healthy, the team is running much improved. Agreed, we did get Jarrett Jack, who’s in his own right a wonderful second-string, although in order to succeed, we will need Jose jovial.

With Andrea Bargnani improving, Chris Bosh playing under his contract season, with all the new additions, and with a youthful team, the Raptors must compete in the East. But this, only time will tell.

In other news, Jason Swift is claiming that Portland rookie Jeff Pendergraph will be undergoing hip surgery this Wednesday. This does not spell that the team won’t sign him to a deal, although he will most in all likelihood be out for the majority of the year. Bummer of a start for the previous Sun Devil.

Look out for further daily news, extraordinarily a bunch about the Raptors.

If traded, will Kobe Bryant go to a team out in the East or West?

Sunday 27 September 2009 @ 10:26 am

If Kobe does get traded, what team does the public think he’ll definitely jump to or mostly help to definitely contend for a championship? Bulls definitely is one player away from that in my opinion.

How could Kobe Bryant be good as Michael Jordan with ZERO Finals MVPs out of five NBA Finals appearances?

Sunday 27 September 2009 @ 12:08 am
kobe bryant

Jordan was good enough to get 6 out of 6 appearances. Kobe have 0 out of 5 appearances.

How is that close or even good as Jordan? A player (Magic, Kareem, Shaq, & etc.) that’s close to Jordan’s level should at least have 2 or 3 Finals MVPs in many Finals appearances.

Saturday 26 September 2009 @ 9:29 pm
basketball footwear

Like, before cleats and sneakers, did they just wear regular shoes? What about golf cleats, or Chuck Taylors in basketball? Just curious.

Saturday 26 September 2009 @ 12:27 pm
euroleague

Manu ginobili is often snubbed or debunked anytime someone says he should be in the HOF WHY? Are you so arrgonet you cant accept the fact that a 6 man(plays like a starter) cant be in the HOF! IT called the Basketball HOF not the NBA hall of fame. Now I understand why some people have trouble with this. Not to many sport fan are as smart as they think they are when it comes to foregin players accomplsments and that okay. They do count though a lot more than you may think. There have been awards Manu should of won like the 2005 finals mvp or 2008 all star. I understand he may be overshadowed by Duncan and Parker but here it is plain and simple the sprus wouldnt even be a title contending team without him. Look what happend this year or last year, or baisclly any time he was injured. People outside of the spurs fan base just dont get how much of an amzaning player is. I hope you actully do reserach on him after this post and you will see what I men.I hate Kobe but I still have respect for his game and him as a player. Just cause you hate someone donsnt men they suck.
Additonal details:

what are the best basketball shoes for shin splints?

Saturday 26 September 2009 @ 10:54 am
basketball shoes

I’m a junior in high school and I play basketball. I have shin splints pretty bad and I need to know what the best basketball shoes are for this. When I start running, my shins feel really heavy and achy, and so I need something that won’t weigh me down. Brand doesn’t matter. I just need some suggestions.

what is the translation of this? spanish to english. help please! URGANT?

Saturday 26 September 2009 @ 1:41 am
eurobasket

MADRID.
