From August 28 through September 12 we will experience a unique World Championship.
As we all know, the great stars of “Dream Team” USA will not play this summer in Turkey. Who has a better chance of winning then?
Argentina’s Manu Ginobili won’t play, France’s Tony Parker won’t play and Spain’s Pau Gasol won’t play either. So which star is going to play? Cast your comment and tell me!
Players and Reasons:
Kobe Bryant: “It’s a combination of three things: free agency, injuries and having gone hard for a long time,” Colangelo said. “And I’m OK with that.”
Lebron James: “I got a really, really, really, really, really busy summer,”
Dwane Wade: “I understand that this is a very challenging summer, but a very important summer for me”
Dwight Howard: “Get some rest. Come back next season better.”
International:
Pau Gasol: “I am convinced that the National Team will continue to enjoy the maximum expectations by having great players, there for the options are true and possible.”
Tony Parker: ‘I don’t want to play on the national team this year, and that’s because I played the last five summers’
Manu Ginobili: The San Antonio Spurs guard said he is skipping the tournament because his wife is scheduled to give birth to twins next month, and because he wants to stay healthy. (Espn)
Am I missing someone? Please tell!
My Opinion: Puerto Rico has a good chance since two former NBA stars Carlos Arroyo and Jose Barea are going to play; this team won a gold medal in the “Centroamericanos” on June and are right now chasing gold in Mayaguez 2010.
PS: Someone is Angry…
“If someone chooses not to play this summer just because he chooses not to play, there’s no guarantee he’ll be in London,” said USA Basketball Chairman Jerry Colangelo.”
WHAT IS YOUR OPINION?
Who’s better???????

In NBA Live 08 for the PS2 can you transfer or draft players from the seven international teams? Yi should be with the Bucks and Scola should be with the Rockets, but they are only on Team China, and Argentina. Thanks a lot!
When does FIBA 2010 start? I know the year (duh lol) I mean the exact date?
Does it air on local channels or ESPN?
Thank you!
C Dwight Howard
PF Rasheed Wallace
SF Lebron James
SG Michael Redd
PG Chris Paul
Bench…F/C Chris Bosh, Al Harrington, F Richard Jefferson, G Joe Johnson, G Kirk Hinrich, F Carmelo Anthony, Carlos Boozer….
this team is versatile and has a good mix of role players and scorers, you have guys who can function in an actual offensive scheme and not be thrown off to bad by not being able to dominate the basketball…Howard and Boozer would rule the glass…Sheed, Howard would work the inside out game needed from big men in international competition, Redd also would provide solid shooting that we’ve needed the past few years, Jefferson, Hinrich and Johnson would give us an excellent defensive perimeter also an area where we lacked last year in Olympic competition, Harrington, Jefferson, Johnson, and Lebron would give us ton of versatility which is always a plus in Olympic competition ….who would yours be?
USA has won that championship 3 times even when the players are as young as 21. They are not the clear cut favorite this time, but they are usually one the favorites anyway because they learn quickly.
Given the recent domination and success of Team USA in the FIBA Americas Tournament, now do they have a chance against the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games Dream Team?
some of those guys that was shown in the half time show suck, the only really good ones are the ones that were on it in 2008, like really david lee? eric Gordan, kevin love Russell westbrook, Gerald Wallace? that isnt the best that USA has. USA has to go to FIBA and show them that we are the best, And by doing that we have to use our best!! like Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Dwight, Melo, Tim
anyone agree?
