NBA Odds: Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Trends
Three teams are sitting pretty, waiting for the next round, while friends of Cleveland Cavalier fans are keeping them away from sharp objects and rooftops. And many bettors can relate, as online sportsbooks and Vegas shops alike, took in a lot of betting action on King James and the Cavs to not only win this series, but win the Eastern Conference and the Championship.
So while the Phoenix Suns prepare to battle the LA Lakers in the Western Conference final (after sweeping their respective semifinal series), the Orlando Magic (who also swept their series) are waiting to see who comes out of the Cavs-Celtics series.
Boston currently holds a 3-2 series lead — the Celtics took Game 5 by a final of 120-88, winning straight up as a +7.5 underdog.
The sports betting public took a hit in that game, as online sportsbooks reported heavy action coming in on the Cavs.

NBA Playoffs ? Heat lead the Series 2-0 against the Boston Celtics
It’s not looking good for the Boston Celtics. It’s not a good omen. The last time the Boston Celtics lost the first two games of a playoffs series was back in 2004 when they got swept by the Indiana Pacers. As a matter of fact, this is now the ninth time in the franchise history that Boston has dropped the first two games of a series. And the numbers do speak for themselves. Out of the previous eight, only once has the Boston Celtics come back from a 0-2 deficit and win the series, and it was in 1969 against the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals. Perhaps the problem is that Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen have never found themselves in this situation. These Celtics have lost Game 1s in four other series before their matchup with the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Semis. The Celtics had previously bounced back to win Game 2 each time, against Chicago and Orlando in 2009, then Cleveland and the Lakers in 2010. Well, not this time. The Celtics managed
Celtics – Lakers Prediction
The Beginning
Tomorrow the Celtics will win and win the series. Boston has been so phenomenal at home, there court is where they’re used to playing at. Also the role players and bench players will step up. Leon Powe will have his game going, I predict he will have around 12 points. P.J. Brown is also to talk about, even though he’s very old, he’s still a good player. Look for a strong game, 13 points is my prediction. And then there was Eddie, Eddie House has been so good, he can work his outside game and inside. Look for 9 points (3/4 3pt).
The Big Three: Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett.

Well hey you guys knew this was coming. Although Ray Allen got off to a slow start in the series, tomorrow night he will be on fire scoring 33 points. 6/6 of 3pt, 5/6 at the line and 5/7 from 2pt land. I promise
Pierce is no prophet in Celtics loss to Lakers in game 3 of NBA Finals
There is no doubt, Boston Celtics superstar forward Paul “Truth” Pierce is one of the top players in the National Basketball Association today. Despite his NBA superstar status, there is one thing certain Pierce is just a heck of a professional basketball player and not a prophet. This developed after Pierce failed in his prediction that the Celtics will sweep the next three games of the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles which would be held at the the Boston Garden. In game three of the much talked about NBA Finals, the Lakers beat the Celtics 91-84 at the home-floor of the latter through the heroics of Lakers veteran point-guard Derek Fisher. The defeat foil Pierce prediction that the Celtics will beat the Lakers three straight in their own home-floor. Pierce made the bold prediction earlier after after Pau Gasol committed a hard foul on Kendrick Perkins with 1:12 remaining in Game 2 and the Celtics leading, 97-90, Pierce, as he helped his teammate off
NBA- Celtics Beat Lakers in Game Five and go up 3-2 in the Final Series
The Boston Celtics are one step from becoming the new NBA Champions after beating Los Angeles Lakers in Game Five, 92-86 in the Finals at the TD Garden on Sunday. The team of Doc Rivers, led by Paul Pierce (27 points), completely surpassed the Lakers. Despite the good contribution of Kobe Bryant and his 38 points, the Lakers couldn’t stop the good teamwork of Boston. The Lakers lack of contribution from Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol and the other starters was the cornerstone for L.A’s defeat.
Boston was able to use their best weapons and took advantage of a better group performance, with its four stars contributing throughout the game.
The Celtics entered the game much sharper than the Lakers, who received a 6-0 run from Boston. The Lakers could not find their key-players and it took 10 minutes for Bryant to score and 12 minutes for Gasol. Before the reaction of these two starters, Andrew Bynum and Derek Fisher were in charge of the Lakers offensive end in
How to Attack the Lakers “triangle” Offense? Run Smack Into the Celtics “angle” Defense

The Boston Celtics recent NBA title effort not only set a record for the largest margin of victory in a championship game39 pointsbut also became the greatest one-season improvement in history.
A year ago the Celtics finished at 24-58 and dead last in the NBA Eastern Conference. This year they went 66-16, won the Atlantic Division title and the Eastern Conference title before disposing of the Los Angeles Lakers, 131-92, in the 6th and final playoff game to win their 17th NBA title and first since 1986, erasing a 22-year drought.
It was an incredible blowout of the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers. It seemed like everything the Celtics threw up went in following great ball movement, while the Lakers vaunted “triangle” offense stalled when the Celtics cut off its passing lanes. Los Angeles was left with Kobe getting the ball at mid-court and trying to single-handedly create points against 5 Celtics. Kobe went 7-of-22
Which team is likely to end the Lakers and Celtics dominance
The La Lakers and the Boston Celtics are back to where most people believe they belong, at the top of the two conferences. Although the Phoenix Suns and Orlando Magic accompany them at the top, they look stronger to overthrow their closest opponent.
At the start of the season, the Lakers and the Celtics didn’t waste time taking the lead of the two conferences, however they found themselves relinquishing that position to the likes of the Suns, Hawks, Nuggets and the Magic who added different tempo to the game. After the sudden drop of the Nuggets and the Hawks at the top of the respective conferences, the big question is, “do those four teams have what it takes to withstand the Lakers and Celtics dominance?”
The Phoenix Suns, who are yet to lose at home, have made it clear they are the Lakers biggest challengers in the western conference. Losing against the Lakers, in the battle of who is the best in the west, really put then down but

It’s not because our games are similar, it’s not because of talent similarities or any of that,” Fisher said Wednesday after the Lakers practiced for Game 4 of the NBA finals against the Boston Celtics.
“It’s just that we’ve experienced a lot of good and bad things together. Because we’ve been through those fires, we’re just comfortable relying on each other, and I
NBA Championship Betting: Celtics vs. Lakers
With a tip of the hat to Yogi Berra, it’s “deja vu all over again” as the 2010 NBA Championship is set to tip off.
Just as they did two seasons ago, the storied Boston Celtics and LA Lakers will represent their respective conferences in this year’s NBA Final. LA is looking serve a cold dish of revenge, as they were dumped 4-2 in that 2008 Final.
This time around, online sportsbooks have the Lakers as the series favorites, listed at -175 while the Celtics are +155 underdogs.
So where’s the money going and is there any good value in betting on the series.
Let’s look at some betting numbers of note for this matchup:
Boston has been a healthy play for the sports betting public the last few weeks, posting a 7-2 mark against the spread in their last nine starts.
They’ve also been covering at an impressive clip on home court, going 7-2 ATS the last nine times they’ve played in front of the hometown faithful.
I think Celtics. I think the Lakers want a rematch with Boston because of the 2008 Finals? What’s your opinion?
